The Interactive Atlas of the HUMANcITY research program presents a mapping of the humanitarian landscape of Lesvos during the period from 2015 to 2022, with special focus at the period after 2019, which is the research period of the program. The Atlas presents geographical positions of the humanitarian presence on the island, which include the camps, the Reception and Identification Centers (RIC), the spaces of activities and services provided to asylum seekers by the humanitarian actors as well as other spaces of interest that appeared during the period of research. Moreover, the Atlas presents also additional data in relation to the refugee-migration phenomenon, such as data on the organizations that are active on the island during different times, data on population movements, on deaths at sea, and on spaces of protest, contestation and confrontation.<\/p>\n \n

The data were collected through an online survey and an online research on the webpages and social media pages of the humanitarian actors, the organizations of interest and the authorities, as well as through fieldwork that conducted on the island in separate visits between 2020 and 2022.<\/p>\n \n

The Altas is an ongoing project that and new entries are planed to be added by the HUMANcITY research group with the support of the team of the Observatory of the refugee and migration crisis in the Aegean even after the program is completed.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
